I left all the punctuation and spellings (even the mistakes, the discography has a few) as they were in the newsletter, except for the underlined things that I can't duplicate on here. all the things from the band members were handwritten and had photos along with them, so please forgive me if I make some mistakes. the lines ----------------------- denote different pages Allison allisonbai@aol.com baird321@halcyon.com Smashing Pumpkins Discography 1990 I Am One 7" single on Limited Potential Records b/w "Not Worth Asking Tristessa 7" single on Sub Pop Records b/w "La Dolly Vita" Tristessa 12" UK Import on Sub Pop Records b/w "La Dolly Vita" & "Honey Spide r" 1991 Gish Caroline LP/CD/CS 1992 Lull 12" & CD Hut "Rhinoceros, Blue, Slunk, Bye June" Peel Sessions * 12"/CS/CD Hut "Siva, A Girl Named Sandoz, Smiley" I Am One * 7"/10"/12"/CD Hut "Bullet Train To Osaka, Plume, Starla, Terrapin Station" 1993 Siamese Dream Virgin LP/CD/CS Cherub Rock * 7"/12"/CD Hut "Cherub Rock, Pissant, French Movie Theme, Rivers" Today * 7"/12"/CS/CD Hut "Today, Hello Kitty Kat, Obscured" 1994 Disarm * 7"/12"/2 CD's Hut "Disarm, Landslide, Dancing Moonlight, Soothe, Blew Away" Gish Hut/Caroline Reissue-Remastered Rocket * 7" Hut "Rocket, Never Let Me Down" Disarm * 7" Hut "Disarm, Siamese Dream" Today * 7" Hut "Today, Apathy's Last Kiss" Pisces Iscariot Virgin LP/CD/CS Siamese Singles * Hut Box Set "Cherub Rock, Rivers, Rocket, NeverLetMeDown, Disarm, Today, Apathy" *= English Imports (You know.....the stuff you can't buy at Wal-mart) Hello! I'm Laura Ann - the poor prioncess duped into reading and responding to the SP fan club mail. Ooph! What a job. As some of you may well be aware, it can take literally years to sort through the hundreds of thousands of letters we were deluged with since "Siamese Dream" took off. Although responses are often pathetically slow in coming, the band thanks you for your letters - support from fans like you make all the corporate B.S. worth while. Often we get asked for back ground information on the band (i.e. how the band was formed, inspirations, birthdays, photos, shoe sizes etc.) and it would take volumes of newsletters to tell you the whole story but luckily most of this information has been previously published in many magazine articles over the past few years. A periodical index at your local library can be a great help in finding the info you're looking for. As for autographs , photos, stickers, sheet music, and other begged for things, we couldn't possibly send this stuff out to everyone who asks so don't be offended if your wish did not come true. We don't have much of that type of stuff here. But, we do offer a "fan club" of sort. For 3 measly dollars here is what you -can- get from the club: 4 newsletters, "timely" information, tour info, hair cut updates, special "fan club only" offers (for example, several east coast fan's were offered an opportunity for tickets to the MTV video music awards). Here's what you -can't- get: Home phone numbers, coupons to taco bell, lyrics to Gish or Pisces Iscariot (all we have is Siamese Dream all other songs are only in Billy's head), backstage passes, or a facial. That's all for my tid bit of info for now. Thank you to every one who writes me letters too, it is nice to be appreciated. See you next newsletter! Love, Laura Ann (aka: to whom it may concern, Dear Sir, Mailing Goddess) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ---------------------- Hi, how's is going? I hope you all had a nice holiday. It's very cold here in Chicago but we're working hard on the new record(s) in spite of Mother Natu re. The record(s) should be out sometime this fall. On a personal level I have a new dog. Her name is Akasha and she's a Husky - she loves the cold....I don't! Anyway, keep being yourselves. All my love, Jimmy C. Akasha says hi too! {drawing of a smiling girl with braids and a Pumpkins heart shirt on} Mary Rosemeyer, age 12 1994 I don't think this photo was intended to be me - but it kind of looks like me + Mary (bless her heart) gave us permission to use it - so i am cause i like it! (Sorry it's not a t-shirt Mary) but we love all the stuff everyone sends + thanks for the letters etc... We do read some of them, yes - Laura sorts through + gives us the letters that want us very much to read them + we try to answer - please be patient w/us..! sometimes we don't get letters until 3 mos. later... Thanks alot! and - um... keep on truckin! Love D'arcy ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ---------------------- hello fine feathered friends - Captain Kokonut here. A belated merry Christmas to everyone + the happiest in the new year. well - once again we're writing our magnum corpus entitled "Melon Collie + The Infinite Sadness" - we still plan to release a two-cd set - hopefully around 24 songs. so far we've written 40 things or so - I don't know if you would call them all songs. we're going to start recording around March 1st - and hope to have it out Sept. 95. I know many people are displeased with not getting a personal response from us as far as letters are concerned. (concerned!) we're sorry, but there are just so many letters that if we wrote everyone back we would never play music. love to all + best wishes, Billy 1995 yo, wuz up? how was your new years? mine sucked too. we're very lazy about writing for the fan club and we apologize. My dog Bugg says hello. While giving him his daily "walk" on my silver rampar 110 bmx bike, Bugg veered off-course to chase a squirrel. In the ensuing mayhem I was catapulted off my bike onto the icy Chicago sidewalk. oh - dog! goodnight to everyone, everywhere - James
