girl, about 13, wearing black, average looking (whatever that means), brown
shoulder length hair, listening to a discman in the backseat of a school
bus.

she looks out the right side of the window, camera follows, sees a cloudy
grey sky. for every down beat, a drop of rain falls on the window. once the
second guitar comes in&speeds up, until billy starts singing, girl is
spinning around on a green hill in the sun with her eyes closed, her face
expressionless.

for: "she didnt wanna be/she didnt wanna know/she couldnt run away cause
she was crazy", girl is in a simple long white dress, running (obviously
being chased) thru a forest blindly, being caught on thorns & branches,
tearing her dress, face, arms, legs, but the scratches dont bleed.

for next verse: girl is back on the bus, her hands covering her ears to
close in the music, her eyes tightly shut, her head bent over. on the line
"she was dull razors", a flash of harsh light glinting of the metal of an
up-close razor.

til "no one should come between us", girl looks thru window on the bus,
sees a semi-transparent billy walking towards her.

in the 4 or so beats between "no one should come between us" and the start
of the next line, camera is in girls room, billy is crucified above the
girls bed, wearing all black, his head bent over but he is smiling.

for the next 3 lines til "and she was crazy" billy is reaching out towards
the girl (on the bus). girl has her hand on the window. billy walks slowly,
his hand palm out, and as his hand is about to touch hers theu the window...
(explosion in song)

girl standing on the green hill, lightning flashing all around in a
blue-black sky. the ground catches on fire. girl finds herself in hell.
james and d'arcy, wearing black & smirks pull her toward billy, sitting ona
throne, in red, with horns (the devil) at "cause ima  watcher" billy is
crawling on the ground thru hell toward the girl, dressed like james and
d'arcy to look like a demon, then flashes back to him on his throne.

for "i hurt where i cant feel/i feel where i cant hurt" girl is sitting on
her bed, below crucified billy (obviously taking no notice) testing the
sharpness of a rusty razor with her finger. she doesn't bleed. for "i know
where i cant know/i bleed for me and mine" d'arcy enters the room, takes
the razor and slits her own throat leaving two red scars that don't bleed,
and then fade into her skin. at the end of the line, the room is empty.
during explosion in song, the mirror breaks, the empty cross breaks, and
the window shatters outward into a starless night.

for "i am made of shamrocks" thru "i am the forgotten child", girl is
standing in the center of her bedroom, with votive candles in a small
circle around her. she is wearing the torn white dress from before. she
raises her arms and screams as billy screams "child" in the song.

for the next 3 lines, james is staring in a mirror, you can only see half
his face, but in the reflection you see billy staring (his back facing the
mirror) at a picture of a woman on the wall, then ripping it off the wall
as james covers the mirror with a black cloth, turning hte screen to black.

for the space between verses, girl is back on the bus, but it is night, she
is alone , and staring outside she sees the hill from before (verse starts)
angels, led by d'arcy (as an angel) are walking, each holding a candle,
across the hill. at the end of "i was sure to go" d'arcy stops, turns, and
places her finger to her lips as the angels fade.

at the start of the next verse, the girl is blindfolded, wearing the white
dress, at the edge of a field. she stumbles, falss in the dirt, and during
"mary's not a stupid girl", rips the blindfold off. you see a flash of her
remembering her mothers face contorted with rage (as "mary does not forget"
ends)

for next line, girl is back in the forest, the briar bushes gorw around her
and shadows begin to creep out of them. the girl closes her eyes as the
verse ends. at the end of "and into the eyes of the jackyl i say ka-boom"
the forest set on fire, and the girl starts tumbling downward, thru rocks
scattered with skeletons, falls thru blackness, screaming, falls suddenly
on the hill at the end of "she will never learn"

back in the bedroom, crucified billy is laughing, looking at camera (until
the "no, no, no" part) then it flashes back to hell, where devil billy is
laughing looking upward. then back to the hill where d'arcy and her angels
all blow out their candles at the same time and diappear. then half of
james' face, smiling in the mirror, the reflection shows billy standing
still (his back still towards the mirror) with his head down. then the
empty green hill at sunset.

final scene: girls hand on bus window, she slowly puts it down and turns
her head down to stare at her empty palm. on the final note, the camera has
a full on view of her face, as one tear of blood drops from her eye onto
her hand and the video ends.
