The Aeroplane Flies High (Turns Left, Looks Right) by Cherv73@aol.com Three notes: -This dosen't follow the normal lyric-by-lyric pattern due to the way the song just flows -This idea has a lot of holes in it, and not every idea makes sense. -In retrospect, this idea would never come to fruition, but every time I hear the song and start signing it to myself, this is what I see in my mind... The majority of the song takes place on (you guessed it) an aeroplane. For no special reason, Billy and James are piloting the ship, mainly because they are the main singers. (Yeah, D'arcy does sing, but not as much as James) They're flying over the vast ocean (there is an island below, representing "Porcelina's Island"), and Billy gets on the PA system and does the "I really don't want to look stupid..." part, even though Billy and the voice that does it don't sound a bit alike. The two main divisions of the song are classified accordingly: The speaking parts are things the "pilot" actually says out loud to the people on the aeroplane The singing parts are things going on inside the "pilot's" mind, which would be represented by a shot of said pilot staring blankly into the ocean The during the span of the video, you can see the standard happenings of your average aeroplane flight...attendantes move up and down, give people pillows, people work on laptop computers, etc etc...these passenger and pilot shots alternate until you get to the solo. When the solo starts, a riot beraks out on the plane...people start fighting left and right...chairs go flying, people punching other people, carts tipping, etc etc. When the solo ends and Billy picks up with the "Wishing you were real to me" set of lines, you see him sweating, getting nervous, etc and he just turns off the engines to allow the plane to crash in the water. Specifically, the engines go off, which causes the lights in the fusilage (where the people are) to go out, which in turn ceases the riot. Then up comes Billy over the PA and does the "And in the heart I know you're there," which is, incidentally, done in blackness with an occasional light from the windows making its way though. After he finishes up with the "I know you don't," the plane plunges into the water.
