Rocket by mark@texas.net Before the music starts, the scene is a school auditorium of sorts and all the seats are filled with proud parents and family. On stage is an old bald man, supposively the principal, who is handing a big trophy to a boy, about the age of 18. The camera fans into the audience and to the proud parents of the boy, who are grinning, clapping, taking pictures, etc. But then it shows a younger boy, a boy who kind of resembles Billy when he was 13, sitting on his chair with his arms crossed and a frown on his face. The Music Begins- The same young boy is riding his bike down a street and he has a big smile on his face. He also has a backpack on his back. He's racing home to announce some really big and good news to his family. But when he gets there, his dad is watching football and his mom is making dinner and neither of them take the time to listen to what he has to say. When the boy sadly walks away, he trips on the carpet and lands on his face as his dad cracks up at him. Subtitles at the bottom of the screen say, "Well, Margaret (the mom), at least our oldest son learned how to walk." The mom laughs too and the boy walks away sad and embarrased. "Bleed in your own light.." The boy is in his room playing is guitar and singing (maybe Rocket, maybe something else) and his dad comes in and the subtitles say, "Your brother never played guitar" and the boy says, "I'm not my brother" and the dad says, "Quit making so much noise and come do your chores." And he leaves and the boy goes and does his chores, all the time having to listen to his parents babble about the scholarship his brother has earned. "I torched my soul..." Shows Billy singing and riding the boy's bike slowly in a circle in the street in front of the boy's house. James and D'Arcy are inside the invisible circle, playing jacks or marbles with 3 other little kids. The kids are smiling and looking up at D'Arcy and James in an admiring fashion. "A crown of horns..." The boy is at school and sees an adveritisment on a bullietin board that says some organization is hunting for new talent and to audition the next Friday. The boy is excited and the scene cuts to him sitting on his bed playing his guitar some more. Then his mother comes in and the subtitles say, "Your making to much noise and your brother is trying to take a nap." "But I'm practicing for the talent show" the boy says. "There's no way you could be in a talent show, you haven't got any talent" his mom says and walks out the door. This makes the boy even more determined. Through his window, you can see the sun and moon rise and drop quite fast, as if to show him practicing at all hours of the day. Then it shows some more of the Pumpkins. "So soon, I'll find myself alone..." This part shows the boy at the talent show. The judges are Billy, James, and D'Arcy and they all vote him the best. When he goes to recieve his award the subtitles have the principal saying, "Where are your parents?" and the boy says, "They didn't want to come" and the principal frowns but gives him the prize anyway. The boy sadly walks down the isle with his prize but no one to congradulate him for it. Just when he's about to leave, though, the doors open and his brother comes in. "Sorry I'm late, but congradulations anyway" his brother says, smiling and hugging him. The last shot is the pumpkins playing in the empty auditorium with the two brothers in the last row, talking and laughing together. The end.
