Crush (The Intermission) by Tmyers1922@aol.com Drew did the unthinkable. Burying himself after finding out his wife cheated on him.....at least that's what he thought. It wasn't true. He couldn't help think it though. He was deranged, misguided by mysterious thoughts of religious emptiness and betrayal. He was drowning now. Claustrophobia was seeping in. In his mind, through all his insanity, he couldn't believe he did this. He laughed inside himself. But it was a short laugh, his mind began to swim, the weight of the dirt began to break his bones. His last thoughts surfaced..."For all I know, she probably believes me to be dead and gone.....dead and gone.....dead and gone....dead and gone. (Opening bass line and music) Drew found himself in hazy visions. He could see and not see himself. He was just a mind floating in an abyss. "Is this death?", he thought. "You wrap your arms around" Drew felt a presence of heat around himself. Or what was left of himself. It was more or less in his head. "A feeling that surrounds" The heat became more intense. All this time he sees nothing but white light, blinding light. "Like liquid peppermint" The light then becomes a greenish-color. The heat takes on a feeling of hot and cold. All this time, he doesn't know what to make of this strange sense of ambience. "Just taste the drinks that she served" The color then begans to take on an abstract shape. It's very hard to explain. It began to flow around Drew's mind. Flowing in a pattern, a steady rhythm if you will. 'What's the meaning of this', he thought somewhat slowly. "And this feeling, shivers down your spine" Just then, his question became a reply. The voice was somewhat familiar to someone he's heard before. But who? Then, suddenly...... "Love comes in colors I can't deny" A wellspring of colors washed over his mind. It had a cool feeling to it. Refreshing. Made him think of his wife, this time, in the happier times of their relationship. "All that matters is love, love, your love." The voice replied that line. 'It's that same voice again', he thought. It was so familiar to him. He then thought of his wife again, of how beautiful she was, and how much he loved her. Did he love her still? In this haze, it didn't matter what he felt. "Your sleepin' in your bed" He thinks of he and his wife in bed together. Just cuddling there, her hand gently caressing his body. "Just rest your weary head" He shuts his eyes to sleep knowing then how much he and his wife love each other. As he thinks all this, a slow, moaning sound occured. Almost a sob. "Maybe you shouldn't care" The haze focused into a vision. It was his wife crying. She was looking at his picture and crying. Were his feelings of betrayal just that, just feelings? Was he all wrong? "Throw away those dreams, and dare" He knew what he had to do. He had to find her. But how could he escape what he was in now. Was it too late? Just then, a whirring sound began to surround him and he had the feeling of falling, falling away into nothing. "And I wonder, if it matters to me" Soon everything was black and he was in excruciating pain. Was he back underground? "Love comes in colors I can't deny" The colors came back to him forgetting about his pain and he began to push at the dirt to get out. "All that shimmers is love, love, your love." The dirt was pretty loose, so he escaped. The air hit him like a dagger. How did he survive? Just how long was he under there? "Your love, yeah your love." The voice! He remembered that voice! It was that man or ghost (billy) whatever he was. It reminded him what he had to do. He looked around and found that this was going to be tougher than it looked. Bleeding and disheveled, he began to walk away.
