Dear Everyone --

First off Happy New Year! Happy Holidays! We hope that all of you had a good time during that weird, vacation time. Well, there's lots of news here at the Scratchie front that begets a little excitment.

First off -- Thanks to all of you who came out and supported us at our Dec 21 Christmas party. The show was a major success with a packed house, rockin bands, and a great crowd. For all of you who weren't there, here's a little run-down of the event. The show opened with a local chicago Band called Kid Million who played a fine set. Then the CHAINSAW KITTENS took the stage and proceeded to go absolutely nuts. Tyson and co. played a tight, fierce set filled with banshee screams, crunchy pop and fine views of Tyson's stomach. James Iha joined the band for a song and played like the guitar god that he is. The after a rousing applause came Fountains Of Wayne the kings of the pure pop song, the mutant children of Brian Wilson and Joey Ramone. Their set was flawless, with Adam & friends making sure that everyone got into their happy pop vibe. Then, after some technical difficulties came Fuflej who proceeded to whoop the crowds ass. It was a major rock moment as No Joke G, Auggie and Maff-Yoo ran through the hits, created wild streams of moshing (albeit gently moshing) dancers, dueted with D'Arcy on Shells and finally blew the crowd with an encore performance of Princes "Nothin Compares 2 U". What fun! So again, thanks to all of you who came and made our show a grand success. Also, thanks to all of you who wished me (Jeremy) a happy birthday -- it made for a memorable beginning to my 28th year.

If any of you all our interested we videotaped the show and were thinking of selling copies of the Video. E-mail us if you are interested.

Other news --

#1. Fountains of Wayne will be touring with the Smashing pumkins for the January leg of their tour, so hopefully some of you will be able to enjoy this band live.

#2. Our web-site is now linked with the on-line CD seller CDnow, so anyone that would like to purchase any of our band's music can do so straight from the site.

#3. We now have a folder on AOL in the general music section and its quickly become a pretty interesting folder with lots of cool news and commentary.

#4. For any of you who came to the Christmas show, we are looking for reviews and stories relating to it for inclusion in our Winter newsletter, so e-mail us whatever tid-bits you like.

#5 Phoenix Thunderstone will be playing the following dates and should not be missed. This band puts on a grinding, evil show like some sort of Hill-billy revival mixed with the classic punk fury of the Sex Pistols. Here's those dates: 2/2 Portland, OR @ Satirichon, 2/7 Fresno @ The Fulton, 2/8 San Francisco @ Chameleon

Other than that, thank you all for making our first year a huge pleasure and keep bugging those radio stations, mtv and local video shows to play Fulflej, Fountains and the Kittens!

Thanks, love and kisses!
