Smashing Pumpkins Flood the Market

There will be a blizzard of new Smashing Pumpkins music out in the next few months singer-guitarist Billy Corgan says -A five-cd set of extended plays, "The Aeroplane Flies High,: that collects the five singles releases form "Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness: and 28 b-sides due in November. "Most people haven't heard these b-sides and I'm interested in a higher profile for them, because I think at least half of them are of album-quality," Corgan says.

-A new song on the soundtrack to the David Lynch movie "Lost Highway," which does not have a scheduled release date.

-Largely electronic instrumental music for the soundtrack to the Ron Howard movie "Ransom," starring Mel Gibson, due out in November.

Corgan says he's also starting to write material for the next Smashing Pumpkins album. "We're going to sit down and evaluate everything at the end of the tour, but I feel fairly confident that we're going to make another record.
