Here they come to save the day. The Smashing Pumpkins are involved in a number of super projects this spring. First on our heros' list is joining it forces with Nine Inch Nails drummer Chris Vrenna to lay down a track for Batman and Robin, the next chapter to unfold in the ongoing mega-box office film franchise, which has yeilded severeal successful soundtrack albums thus far (including big hits for U2, Seal, and others). After this superfrisnds summit, fearless leader Billy Corgan will remove his frontman costume and assume a role behind the board as producer for Rick Ocasek's next album. Corgan's high regard for the former Cars frontman (an accomplished producer in his own right) was apparent in his choice to cover "You're All I've Got Tonight" on the Pumpkins' recent The Aeroplane Flies High box set. Holy talent, Batman! What could be next for these powerful Pumpkins? Stay tuned.
