"Chris [Collingwood, his partner in Fountains of Wayne] and I took a
sculpture class, which was a complete joke. Once we collaborated on this
performance piece that consisted of the two of us drinking vodka and
playing Scrabble. We were accompanied by this loud, horrible, abrasive
music that we'd recorded, and the professor had to sit there and watch us
get drunk while being assaulted by this music. That was fun. I think we
got a D for that."

The Wallflowers - Before Dylan
This is an absolutely authenticated fact, directly from the e-mail mouth of Chris Collingwood! Apparently, the name that FOW was going to use originally was "The Wallflowers", but Jacob Dylan (Bob's son) bought the rights to use the name. So, instead of hearing "One Headlight", the lead singer of The Wallflowers could have been singing about "Radiation Vibe"
Wendy Van Dusen from Phoenix Thunderstone is also front person in the band Neither/Neither World.
Sean Heskett also of Phoenix Thunderstone is said to be "breathes life into

MC No Joke from Fulflej graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University with a bachelors degree in mathematics and was working towards his masters degree in math when things began to happen with his music.
James Iha mentioned in the 120 minutes interview on MTV that they were thinking of naming the label, Cat's Claws.
"Fountains of Wayne is a store in Wayne and It's right next to the DMV where you go and get your drivers licensed renewed. So everybody in New Jersey knows this place. So we have since gone in and made friends with the people of the place." says Adam about the name Fountains of Wayne.
