Cupid de Locke by LaDollyVita@Juno.com The video starts out in a large, white area. The Pumpkins are in there, wearing white suits. D'arcy is wearing a white gown. She is playing the harp in the beginning of the song, James is playing the guitar. Billy is walking around in circles. When the dramatic, quick harp-playing comes along and the scene fades to white, then fades in at "Cupid hath pulled back his sweetheart's bow..." with a brownish hue to the scene, you see a young man, about 14 or 15, in fifty's style clothing, looking very sad, because everyone around him is getting Valentines from their loves, and he has none. Cupid comes along, takes pity on the boy, and shoots a young lady, about the same age in a poodle skirt, with an arrow. She looks over at the boy, casts a knowing glance, and they both get up and greet each other. Cut to the couple, full-color, in a field of daisies. "With turpentine kisses and mistaken blows" the two hug and kiss, smiling the entire time. Cut to a man in a red Halloween devil suit, "The devil may do as the devil may care" and he beckons with his finger at the girl to follow him. "he loves none sweeter as sweeter the dare" She, in a trance, follows him under the earth, while her lover stands by, horrified. Cut to Hell, underground, devil putting her into a cage as he mumbles sweet words to her. "Her heart the captive of which he speaks". Cut to boy, very upset, sitting outside in the rain, then snow, as the seasons change. Just then "so note all ye lovers in love with the sound" he brightens up and the sun comes out and he runs to save his lady. He nearly gets hit by a car but he doesn't care "Your world be shattered with nary a note with one Cupid's arrow under your coat". He dives into a chasm and gets to the Underworld, where the devil is apparently drunk and smashed. In the upper left corner of the screen is Billy's face, "And in the land of the star-crossed lovers, and barren-hearted wanderers..." while the boy saves his girl and they both return to Earth. When they get there, they realize that they are safe, and they are still in love, even though it is not Valentine's Day anymore. "In faith, in compassion, and in love"
