Siamese Dream review from Sky Magazine, September 1993

Get some more iron in your diet with the Smashing Pumpkins, who rush out with all guns blazing on SIAMESE DREAM (Hut). Terrific thundering basslines. Exhilarating nasty powerchords counterpointed with passages of delicate lyricism. Vocals by a man who's obviously prepared to kill when necessary ("the killer in me is the killer in you", he explains in Disarm to a sweeping orchestral accompaniment). Powerful songs too, like the slow 'n' epic Today or the dreamlike Soma. If you called this lot grunge you'd be about 20 per cent right. Far more sophisticated than you might think. Buy it or be sorry. [Rating: 5 out of 5]
